Goldman Sachs + OUT Leadership Conference // NYC

HEY, MALLORY! Tell us a little about your work as the Co-COO of the LGBTQ+ North Texas Network!

As Co-COO of the LGBTQ+ Network for our North Texas offices, I wear many hats. Primarily, I help with the leadership and development of the other leaders in the network. This includes being a decision maker, mentor, person to bounce ideas off of, an advocate and a friend. Additionally, I help make sure any logistics for our events and programing we have for our 5 pillars [1)Community Engagement, 2) Client Engagement, 3) Culture, Education & Equity, 4) Recruiting, Integration and Mobility and 5) Heritage Month] is accounted for. Sometimes this means I am filling in for a panelist or moderator if something happens day of, standing at a table during an intern event, or gathering allies to join in Pride Month photos.

How did you get involved with this particular Goldman Sachs DEI event, and can you tell us a little about the event itself?

As part of the Americas Client Engagement Working Group, we were discussing goals people wanted to accomplish. After listening to a bunch of them, we thought: “This sounds like a conference,” and I proposed we have a conference-like event for clients to listen to industry leaders discuss what they are doing for the community. The event, The Role of LGBTQ+ Talent in Shaping the Future of Business, brought Goldman Sachs, Out Leadership and other industry thought leaders together to discuss what we are doing within our organizations. This event focused on how attracting, retaining, and promoting LGBTQ+ talent impacts our own organizations, as well as all of our external relationships. We accomplished everything we hoped and more at this first-of-its-kind event.

WHAT WAS IT LIKE WORKING WITH Steph Grant Studios for this evenT?

It was great to have SGS work this event since they’ve done a wide breadth of work in the LGBTQ+ space, as well as across all DEI spaces. Additionally, it was important for us to have LGBTQ+ owned companies be a part of every aspect of this event.
