I am a queer artist, educator, and activist, and I create immersive installations that take the form of video projection, sound, blown glass, and neon. I am a second generation glass artist, my mother is a stained glass artist, and I identify as a feminist. My projects address issues of sexism, queer culture, protest, and telepresence. Currently, I am focused on the power of words, language, and cultural biases as those topics relate to gender politics, birth, and queerness in a contemporary and historical context.

I carry with me everywhere I go the smell of the Mediterranean sea, the beach, the palm trees, the narrow alleys of the Gothic neighbourhood, the smell of fried fish from the Boqueria market. I love my city, and the more I travel the more I realise what an amazing city it is! I spent most of my life in Barcelona but always traveling at least one month per year. I lived in many cities, from London when I was a teenager to Rome as an industrial engineering student.
Read MoreWhen I turned 30, I got this insatiable desire to do something more meaningful. It’s in my DNA to be an entrepreneur, so I went to San Diego, sat on a beach for 72 hours, created a vision for my future, came home, JFDI’d, and was on my way. We started BTC to create a company where people could be exactly who they are (unapologetically authentic), live better work lives, and apply their talents to meaningful change. Our movements are to ‘be the change’ we wish to see in the marketing space, work/lifestyle space, and the world. We’re the agency and workplace of the future.
Read MoreIf you are in a position to help…there is no greater way to display gratitude for that position that you’re in than to help someone else. That can be as simple as opening up a door or buying a cup of coffee for someone behind you, or volunteering at a local shelter which anyone can do in their communities. Then, yes, as you evolve in your life and get yourself in a position where you can help others in a different way or a bigger way…doesn’t mean it’s better. Sometimes money is not the answer for groups and people in need. Sometimes it’s time, it’s love, heart, ideas, thinking and expertise. You never know when your life will turn in an instant and you’ll be the person who is in need. Go do some good no matter how high or low you are on the totem pole… you never know when you’re going to need it one day.
Read MoreIn early 2009 my position was eliminated and found myself looking at 18 months with a non-compete that essentially prevented me from moving on to another food company. My husband (and partner in this crazy journey) challenged me to make a list of all of the things I wish I’d ever had time to do (big or small) in the years I’d been working long hours and traveling. As we reviewed my extensive wish list with everything from sky diving to cleaning out the closets, he urged me to complete them all and stated he would “join me for as many of them as he could”. This soon became what we affectionately refer to as “Wendy’s Involuntary Sabbatical World Tour”.
